Oil and Gas, Energy Transition and Sustainability Courses in Dubai

Oil and gas courses in Dubai are mostly 5-day professional seminars on petroleum trading, pricing, marketing and oil and gas technology, run by corporate training companies at around US $5,950 per Dubai classroom seat in 2026 (GLOMACS and EuroMaTech sites, Oct 2026), plus a smaller number of master's degrees in petroleum and renewable energy engineering. Energy transition, hydrogen and sustainability courses follow the same two formats.

This page sets out which format suits which career stage, names providers with published dates and fees, and explains what the certificates are worth. Most seminar fees are paid by employers; if you are paying yourself, compare the total cost against a university course.

Types of oil and gas courses in Dubai

  • Petroleum trading, pricing and marketing: for traders, analysts, commercial staff and finance teams. Covers crude and product benchmarks, contracts, hedging and risk.
  • Oil and gas industry and technology: introductions to upstream, midstream and downstream for non-technical staff, and technical courses in reservoir, production, refining and process safety.
  • Energy transition, renewables and hydrogen: for engineers and managers working on solar, hydrogen, ammonia and decarbonisation projects.
  • Sustainability, ESG and CSR: for sustainability officers, communications and compliance staff, covering reporting and strategy.
  • University degrees: petroleum engineering, renewable energy engineering and energy master's programmes for a deeper career move.

Petroleum trading, pricing and marketing courses

Dubai is a common venue for regional trading seminars. Confirmed examples for late 2026:

ProviderCourseDubai datesPublished fee
GLOMACS (lists KHDA as endorsing body)Oil and Gas: Markets, Trading, Pricing and Economic Framework (5 days)23 to 27 Nov 2026US $5,950 (GLOMACS site, Oct 2026)
Edoxi (Bur Dubai)Oil Marketing and Operations Skills Training for ManagersOn requestNot published

Search terms vary (petroleum business, oil and gas pricing, petroleum marketing and trading) but the syllabi overlap heavily. Compare the day-by-day outline rather than the title. If your interest is financial trading rather than physical oil, see trading courses in Dubai and finance courses in Dubai.

Hydrogen, renewable energy and energy transition training

GLOMACS publishes a dedicated hydrogen category with these Dubai classroom dates, each listed at US $5,950 (online versions of some at US $4,950) (GLOMACS site, Oct 2026):

CourseDubai dates (2026)
Developing Clean Energy and Hydrogen Economy from Sustainable Ammonia Production26 to 30 Oct; 21 to 25 Dec
Hydrogen Industry Fundamentals16 to 20 Nov
Zero Carbon Fuels: Ammonia and Hydrogen23 to 27 Nov
Hydrogen Markets and Demand7 to 11 Dec

For renewable energy as a career rather than a topic, a master's degree is more useful. The University of Birmingham Dubai's MSc Renewable Energy Engineering runs one year full-time or two years part-time at Dubai International Academic City, with fees of AED 155,483 a year full-time and AED 77,742 a year part-time for September 2026 entry (Birmingham Dubai site, Oct 2026). It expects a 2:1 in engineering or physical sciences.

Khalifa University was ranked 6th in the world for petroleum engineering in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office. For more options, see engineering courses in Dubai and universities in Dubai.

Sustainability, ESG and CSR courses

Sustainability and CSR training in Dubai covers sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, carbon accounting and corporate social responsibility. Providers include the same corporate training companies that run energy seminars, along with university executive education units and online courses from reporting standard setters.

  • For reporting roles: look for training aligned to a named reporting framework, and ask whether the certificate is issued by the framework owner or only by the trainer.
  • For engineers: energy management, ISO 14001 environmental management and renewable project courses are more practical.
  • For managers: a short strategy course is usually enough; a master's is only worth it for a career switch.
This guide could not verify a Dubai-based, independently accredited CSR certification with published fees. Treat "certified CSR professional" titles from training companies as attendance certificates unless an external body awards them.

For environmental management qualifications such as the NEBOSH Environmental Certificate, see health and safety courses in Dubai.

What these certificates are worth

A 5-day seminar certificate shows you attended training. GLOMACS and EuroMaTech both register with NASBA as CPE sponsors, which helps accountants and some professionals log continuing education hours, but it is not a qualification that employers screen for. The value comes from what you learn and from employer sponsorship. A degree, by contrast, is what lets you change field, for example from mechanical engineering into petroleum or renewables.

Online or classroom: comparing the options

Most Dubai energy seminars now run in two versions on the same dates. EuroMaTech's site lists its 5-day courses at US $5,950 for the Dubai classroom session and US $4,950 for the live online version, and states 30 CPE credits for the classroom course (EuroMaTech site, Oct 2026). GLOMACS lists its hydrogen courses at the same two price points.

  • Choose classroom if networking with other regional energy professionals matters, or if your employer is paying and you can take a full week away from work.
  • Choose online if you are paying yourself, work rotations on site, or are based outside Dubai.
  • Ask about in-house delivery if several colleagues need the same course; providers such as Edoxi offer corporate versions at a client site or hotel.

Either way, request the full daily timetable in advance. A 5-day seminar that ends at lunchtime on most days gives fewer teaching hours than one that runs full days.

How to choose an oil and gas or energy course

  1. Match the format to the goal: seminar for a skill update, master's for a career change.
  2. Check the licence: training institutes in Dubai should hold a KHDA permit; universities should be MOHESR accredited or KHDA licensed.
  3. Compare syllabi day by day: trading, pricing and marketing courses often overlap.
  4. Check total cost: US dollar fees, VAT, hotel venue and travel. Online versions are often US $1,000 cheaper (GLOMACS and EuroMaTech sites, Oct 2026).
  5. Check dates and minimum numbers: seminars can be cancelled or moved online if too few people book.
  6. Ask about employer sponsorship before paying yourself.
