Programming courses in Dubai range from 40-hour Python or web design classes at KHDA-licensed institutes, to full-time coding bootcamps of about two months, to three- and four-year computer science degrees. The right choice depends on whether you want a job as a developer, a skill for your current role, or an academic qualification.
This page compares those routes, lists providers that publish coding and web development courses in Dubai, explains which certificates carry weight, and covers robotics courses for school students and the separate field of medical coding. ucep.in is independent and has no ties to any provider.
- Bootcamp length
- About 400 hours: roughly 2 months full time or 6 months part time (Le Wagon)
- Short course length
- 16 to 60 hours for a single-skill course (Edoxi, Le Wagon skill courses about 40 hours)
- Entry Python certification
- PCEP from Python Institute, exam from USD 69 (Python Institute site, Oct 2026), 40 minutes
- Who licenses institutes
- KHDA for private training institutes in Dubai
- Degree example
- BSc Computer Science, University of Birmingham Dubai: AED 156,718 per year for Sept 2026 entry (university website, Oct 2026)

Three ways to learn coding in Dubai
| Route | Typical length | Best for | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Short course at a training institute | 16 to 60 hours over days or weeks | Adding one skill (Python, HTML/CSS, WordPress) to your current job | Institute certificate; sometimes prep for an exam such as PCEP |
| Coding bootcamp | About 2 months full time or 6 months part time | Career changers aiming for junior developer or data roles | A portfolio of projects and career support; no academic credit |
| University degree | 3 to 4 years | School leavers and anyone needing an attested qualification | Accredited bachelor's degree, valid for government jobs and further study |
Employers hiring developers look mostly at what you can build. A GitHub portfolio and a technical interview will matter more than the certificate from a short course. For roles in government or regulated sectors, a recognised degree is often a hard requirement.
Coding bootcamps and web development courses in Dubai
Le Wagon runs a Dubai campus with four bootcamps: Software Engineering (web development), Data Analytics, Data Science and AI, and Data Engineering. Its own pages describe the format as about 400 hours, either full time for about two months (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, around 40 hours a week) or part time for about six months with live sessions on nights and weekends (around 16 hours a week). The web development syllabus covers Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, SQL, HTML and CSS, with Git, GitHub and Figma.
Tuition is not printed on the course pages; Le Wagon refers applicants to an advisor and mentions instalments and financing. Ask for the total in AED in writing, including any deposit.
For web designing courses and web design training in Dubai, institutes such as Zabeel list web development, UI/UX and Figma courses as separate short courses. These suit marketers and small business owners who want to manage a site rather than become engineers.
Python courses in Dubai
Python is the most common first language because it is used for automation, data analysis and AI. Typical paths:
- Short Python programming courses at institutes, often 20 to 60 hours. Edoxi lists an AI with Python (machine learning) course of 60 hours.
- Python Institute certifications: the entry-level PCEP exam starts at USD 69 (Python Institute site, Oct 2026), lasts 40 minutes and is delivered through the OpenEDG testing service. It is a useful checkpoint, though employers weigh projects more heavily.
- Data-focused routes: if your goal is analysis rather than software, see data analytics courses or AI courses.

Robotics courses in Dubai
Robotics courses in Dubai serve two very different audiences.
- Children and teenagers: after-school robotics and coding clubs are common, and the UAE's Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) runs a free online virtual camp for UAE citizens and residents aged 7 to 14 covering coding, AI and cyber security, with registration via academy.dgov.ae (Gulf News, November 2025).
- Robotics engineering: at university level, robotics is part of computer, electrical or mechatronics engineering. Middlesex University Dubai lists robotics as a study area within its Computer Engineering and Informatics department. For engineering degrees generally, see engineering courses.
We did not find a standalone diploma in robotics from a KHDA-listed institute that we could verify. If you see one advertised, check the awarding body before paying.
Medical coding courses in Dubai (not programming)
Medical coding is a healthcare administration job, not software development. Coders translate diagnoses and procedures into codes (ICD-10, CPT) for insurance claims. The best-known credential is the CPC from AAPC, a US body; AAPC sets the exam fee on its own site. Courses in Dubai usually prepare you for that exam. Because claims rules are set by local health regulators, ask the provider how the course covers UAE insurance requirements. For related healthcare study, see medical universities in UAE.
How to choose a programming course in Dubai
- Decide the outcome: a developer job, a skill for your current role, or a degree.
- Check the provider's licence: KHDA for Dubai training institutes, CAA accreditation for degrees.
- Compare live teaching hours, not just calendar weeks.
- Ask for the full syllabus and the projects you will build.
- Get the total price in AED, including deposits, exam fees and laptop requirements.
- If you work full time, choose a part-time evening and weekend format and check you can commit around 16 hours a week.
- Ask what career support exists, and treat any job guarantee claim with caution unless the terms are in the contract.
Free and government coding options
- TDRA virtual camp for ages 7 to 14 (coding, AI, cyber security), free, with a digital certificate.
- One Million Prompters from the Dubai Centre for AI: free AI prompt literacy modules, useful alongside coding.
- Coders HQ: a UAE government coding hub at Emirates Towers launched in 2022, which ran assessments, challenges and hackathons for citizens and expats. We could not confirm its current intake, so check before relying on it.

Questions and answers
How long does a coding bootcamp in Dubai take?
Le Wagon's Dubai bootcamps are about 400 hours: roughly two months full time or six months part time on nights and weekends.
Which programming language should I learn first?
Python is the usual first choice for data, automation and AI. For websites, start with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Are coding certificates recognised in the UAE?
Bootcamp and institute certificates are not academic qualifications and are not attested. Employers judge developers mainly on portfolios and interviews; vendor exams such as PCEP add a small signal.
Is there a free coding course in the UAE?
Yes for children: TDRA runs a free virtual camp for ages 7 to 14. Adults can use the free One Million Prompters AI course and free online resources.
What is the difference between coding and medical coding?
Coding means writing software. Medical coding means assigning standard codes to diagnoses and procedures for insurance, and is usually certified through AAPC's CPC exam.
Can I study computer science at a university in Dubai part time?
Most bachelor's programmes are full time. Some master's programmes run evening classes, so check each university's schedule.
