Hotel management courses in Dubai range from four-year bachelor's degrees at licensed universities to two-year government-backed diplomas, three-month City & Guilds chef diplomas and one-day barista or makeup workshops. The right choice depends on whether you want a management career, a skilled trade such as cookery or pastry, or a quick certificate for a job you already have.
This guide covers hospitality management, chef and culinary training, pastry and baking, barista skills, travel, tourism and IATA courses, events, beauty and makeup, and fitness. It explains who licenses each type of provider, what the main certificates are worth, and which reported fees we could confirm. Hotel management courses in Dubai: the main routes
Most people searching for hotel management courses in Dubai are choosing between three levels of study.
| Route | Typical length | Who it suits | What it leads to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bachelor's degree in hospitality or hotel management | 3 to 4 years | School leavers aiming for management trainee roles | Graduate programmes in hotels, revenue, sales, events |
| Diploma or advanced diploma (Level 3 to 5, including HND) | 1 to 2 years | Students who want work-ready skills sooner, or a path to a degree top-up | Supervisor and operations roles in front office, food and beverage, housekeeping |
| Short certificate or skills course | 1 day to 3 months | People already in work, or testing the field | A specific skill: barista, IATA ticketing, food safety, makeup |
Hospitality management courses at degree level should be offered by an institution licensed by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR), with the programme accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), or by a branch campus permitted by KHDA in a Dubai free zone. Diplomas and short courses from private training centres in Dubai fall under KHDA's training institute permits. See universities in Dubai for how to check a university's status.

Chef, culinary, pastry and baking courses
For chef courses in Dubai the most widely recognised professional qualifications are City & Guilds diplomas. ICCA Dubai lists three: the Level 2 Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts (Cookery), the Level 2 Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts (Patisserie), and the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Culinary Arts and Supervision. The Level 2 diplomas are the entry point for working in a professional kitchen; Level 3 adds supervision and kitchen management.
ICCA reports its professional diploma as 620 hours of practical training, studied over 3 months full time or 12 months part time, with fees from AED 47,448 (provider blog, October 2026). It also runs amateur programmes in cookery and in baking and patisserie for home cooks, plus short courses in bread, chocolate, pizza, gelato and sugar work.
Short baking and cooking courses
Many short baking and cooking courses in Dubai are leisure classes lasting a few hours to a few days, with a certificate of attendance. If you want kitchen employment, ask whether the course maps to a City & Guilds or similar unit, and how many practical hours it includes.
Barista courses in Dubai
Barista courses in Dubai are usually one to a few days long. ICCA lists artisanal coffee and barista skills courses; no duration or fee is shown on its site. When comparing barista training, check:
- whether the course follows an international coffee curriculum or is the school's own certificate
- how much machine time each student gets
- whether milk texturing and latte art are included or sold separately
Travel and tourism, IATA and aviation courses
IATA courses in Dubai are delivered by IATA Authorized Training Centers. IATA's own partner directory lists Wingsway Training Institute in Al Mamzar as an Authorized Training Center offering 15 IATA courses, including Foundation in Travel and Tourism with Sabre, Managing the Travel Business, Fundamental Skills in Journey Pricing and Ticketing, Airport Operations Fundamentals and Airline Cabin Crew Training.
- Find the centre on IATA's training partner network page before you pay; the listing shows its authorization status.
- Confirm which IATA exam you will sit and whether the exam fee is included.
- Ask whether the certificate is issued by IATA or only by the centre.
For travel and tourism courses at degree or diploma level, Dubai College of Tourism, part of Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism, offers certificate and advanced diploma courses in tourism, hospitality, culinary arts and events. For tourism development and management training, see leadership courses.
Event management, beauty, makeup, aesthetics and fitness
Event management courses
Dubai College of Tourism lists events among its certificate and diploma subjects. Private institutes also run short event planning courses; check the KHDA permit and who awards the certificate.
Makeup and beauty courses
Makeup courses in Dubai with certificates are mostly private academy courses. Makeup Atelier Academy on Sheikh Zayed Road, for example, lists long-term, intensive and advanced makeup courses and hair styling, without published fees or an awarding body. For beauty therapy, ask whether the course leads to a recognised awarding-body qualification and whether it covers the hours employers expect.
Aesthetic courses
Aesthetic courses range from non-invasive skin treatments to injectables. Before paying for an aesthetic course, ask the provider in writing what you will legally be allowed to perform in Dubai afterwards and which health authority licence that requires. A training certificate alone does not license you to practise procedures that health regulators control. For health careers more broadly, see medical and health degrees in the UAE.
Fitness training courses
REPs UAE (Register of Exercise Professionals) describes itself as the sole register for fitness professionals in the Emirates. A 2023 partner-content article in Khaleej Times reported that most major UAE gym operators hire only REPs-registered trainers, and that REPs vets credentials gained through face-to-face learning. Before buying a personal trainer, yoga or mat Pilates course, check that the qualification is one REPs UAE accepts for registration.
Hotel management course fees and costs in Dubai
Published fees are scarce. These are the figures we could confirm, with their source type:
- ICCA professional culinary diploma: from AED 47,448 (provider blog, October 2026)
- Amity University Dubai, Bachelor of Hotel Management and Tourism: AED 2,100 per credit across 123 credits (ICCA blog, Oct 2026; not confirmed on Amity's site)
Other providers listed here do not publish fees on the pages we checked. Ask for a written quote that includes registration, exam or certification fees, uniforms and knife kits (culinary), and VAT. For degree costs across the UAE, see affordable universities in the UAE.
Options for Emiratis
Two routes are aimed specifically at UAE nationals:
- DCT and Marriott apprenticeship: a two-year Diploma in Hospitality for Emiratis aged 18 and above, combining study with training across Marriott hotels in the UAE. It leads to a Level 4 diploma approved by the UAE Ministry of Education, and Marriott plans to offer graduates full-time roles. The first intake of 40 students started in May 2025.
- Nafis Talent Programme: free training for UAE nationals with partner entities that include Dubai College of Tourism. See free courses in Dubai.
How to choose a hospitality course
- Check the licence. Degrees: MoHESR/CAA or a KHDA-permitted branch campus. Training centres in Dubai: a valid KHDA permit.
- Check the awarding body. City & Guilds for culinary, IATA for travel and aviation, Pearson for HNDs. A centre's own certificate carries less weight.
- Count practical hours. Kitchens and hotels hire on skills. Ask how many hours are hands-on and where internships take place.
- Get the total cost. Include exam fees, kits, uniforms and VAT.
- Fit it around work. Ask about part-time and evening schedules; ICCA, for example, offers a 12-month part-time option.
- Treat job promises with care. Ask what a "placement" means and get it in writing.
